Gardening for Resilience
with Alberta Telfer and Vanessa Willms-Wong
Consider adding culinary herbs to your garden and landscape this season!
Join us as we explore everything you need to know about growing herbs in the Calgary area—from selecting the right plants and designing your ideal site to understanding perennials versus annuals, uncovering flavor profiles, mastering propagation and harvesting techniques, and learning effective herb storage methods. We will celebrate Chamomile, the 2025 Herb of the year! Enjoy a cup of Summit Hill Chamomile Tea as you map out your very own herb garden.
Alberta Telfer of Summit Hill Farm brings a decade of market gardening experience in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. She will be sharing her favorite herbs that thrive in Calgary and enhance your cooking. Trained as a Master Organic Gardener, Alberta will be joined by Vanessa Willms-Wong, with a degree in agricultural sciences and who offers extensive expertise in herb propagation and harvest techniques gained from working on market gardens across Canada and globally.
